Does anyone know if the outer tie rods that come with our trucks require you to put grease in the boot every once in a while? I checked mine, and my passenger side is greasy around the boot and a bit on the arm. The boot doesn't have any visual leaks so I'm not sure if the grease is from the boot or if it's just grease that was put on the joint.

Just an FYI, you put grease, not oil in greasable joints. Anywho, the tie rods don't have grease zerks, so no. If you get after market ones with zerks, then you would. Depending on the model Tacoma you have the drive shaft has great zerks on the u joints.

Good to know. It's dry when I feel the grease stain. Guess the part is cheap and easy enough to replace ( ~$30) if grease starts pouring out.
