Hopefully not. There was a guy in another thread who had some filter fail, with the seal dry as hell. Hope that's not the case on yours too.

I think I saw that post too... but as always I put oil on the gasket before screwing it at its place and everything was fine... It happened to me once that the old gasket stayed on the truck when I pulled the filter out and I screwed the new one over it... when I started the truck oil under pressure pissed everywhere! Shut the truck off and found this... now I always inspect everything... but eh! I might have miss something... will see tomorrow...

Quick update... The good new is that the oil filter is not leakin!!! :yay: My guess is it was leftover from the oil change mess...
The bad new is that my axle seal is leaking again, got the confirmation this morning after my trip to work, it is dripping in the parking lot... I will have to re do all the job lol. after that, if anybody needs help with anything axle related I'll be good to help with my eyes closed  This time I'll get the oem seal and also try to get a tool kit for the installation.

I like the fact you've had this thread for 4 days now and didn't say anything! I guess you've just moved on with your celebrity status with ESt and forgot us little people.

    Truck looks great BTW

Welcome!! Toyota dealer had to order it so i am waiting... should be good to do the job this coming saturday. I looked a bit for some tools but didn't find what I am looking for. Saw on a thread that a 2" pvc pipe is perfect to push the seal to its place so I go some at work and will try it! :fingerscrossed:
