As has been said, the long travel kit *IS a lift kit* as it completely replaces pretty much every bit of suspension you have. It is designed from teh start to be everything you need. From what I've read (I don't have LT) you generally get 4" lift with the kit from total chaos, and that's probably pretty typical of LT kits form other brands, too.

Don't EVER stack lifts (in other words, don't do long travel AND a separate "lift kit"). EVER EVER EVER! It is dangerous and unnecessary. With all the modifications to the chassis and body that's necessary for a long travel kit (fiber glass fenders), you can probably fit as big a tire as you want, within reason...

But I'll ask, since no one else did...

What are you using it for? What's your driving skill level? Given that you were asking about putting a long travel kit AND a lift kit on your truck, I'm assuming you don't have a ton of experience in the dirt.

If you don't have experience driving off road, especially at the paces that a Total Chaos kit can handle in the desert, you will more than likely get yourself into more trouble than your skills can handle, and likely hurt yourself, or others. With that kind of money, you're basically in high-end supercar territory. Ever see a novice get behind the wheel of an Indy car? It'd be like that...

And I mean no disrespect here, just saying that if you don't have a lot of driving experience, I would NOT recommend $30k in mods for any reason. At most, I'd recommend a mid travel setup like ICONs with Total Chaos upper control arms, and a good set of shocks out back (ICONs). Heck, ideally you start 100% stock and work your way up in mods as your skills increase to suit the conditions you are capable of handling (and upgrading the parts as you inevitably break them). I know that doesn't sound fun when you have $30k burning a hole in your pockets, but IMO it's the smarter way to go.

Sheesh, for $30k, you could build a full on Sportsman class race truck from the ground up.

Anyhoo, it's your money, do with it what you please. I'm just more of a cautious (and frugal) person by nature.

On 2 wheel drives you can pair lift spindles (total chaos brand or Maxtrac brand) with a Total Chaos +2 or +3.5 race kit to get long travel with 7" lift. Won't work with standard kit, only race kit. Also I think Dirt Kings +3.5 will work with Maxtrac spindles. I'm getting a Total Chaos +3.5 to run on my Maxtrac spindles next week. Just for a show truck, don't plan on ever doing anything too crazy off road with it

Damn, that looks exactly how I dream my truck will look. I originally planned on running dirt king, but I already have icon rear shocks and icon doesn't make a coilover for dirt king. So I ended up getting stuck with the Total Chaos race kit, luckily I'm getting a decent price on it

Its definitely a great kit. Performs well but haven't been able to test it to its full capabilities yet because I'm waiting to finish my rear. Total chaos makes an awesome race kit dude. You won't be disappointed

Looks good dude. Yeah i definitely contemplated going long travel for quite some time. Getting myself to spend the money was the biggest issue but when i finally did it, i couldn't believe i didn't commit sooner lol. Look forward to seeing the progress of your build!
