Not a buzzkill at all! That was a good time, we have been back a few times but that was the only time I went down rug road and I was passenger. At least you can say you drove farther down rug road than I did! And thanks

Yeah it sure was a good time. Wish I would have had my 4runner a little while before I moved to alaska. I would have enjoyed going on another run with you guys.

What did you do for the speed sensor? I'm running into this issue with mine. I have a 2004 and I know the only 4x4 transmissions that will fit are the 2003-2004 and all these have an actuator and I don't feel like messing with that.

I bought one from the autoparts and bought the gear from Toyota. I don't remember what I year and model I ordered it for. I also had to extend the harness about 2-3'.

I think they several options for the gears so I just went with the middle one and ended up with the speedometer running about 4-5mph under the actual speed.

I think I'll just stick with getting the transmission with the actuator I'll just rig it up and figure out how it works. It seems a lot easier than taking the entire trans apart. I appreciate your input
