The first reply (since deleted) makes no sense, and ignores the actual question IMHO.

    CONS :
    - Any spacer will put additional stress on the wheel bearings. The thicker the spacer, the more stress.
    - sticking the tires out past the fender might be illegal in some states.
    - it looks tacky :D

lol my bad I thought he typo'd the word pics when he wrote cons :-/ I'm putting a 2nd gen rear end on it to get shocks outside of the frame for lt so the 2" up front are for matching the width until I long travel the front. I'll take the pics down. Anyway what Tan4x4 said. If you want a little more stance just get 1 1/4" or some 3.5" backspaced wheels and it'll do what you want.

I think it depends on the rim width and offset. For example, I have 285/75-16s on 7" wide rims with 32 mm offset. The tires wouldn't clear anything without spacers. My 1.5" spacers bring the offset to around -6. I get just the slightest bit of rubbing on the frame.

Of course, if I had an 8" rim with say -10 or -12 offset, I wouldn't need the spacers. Combining spacers with the correct sized rims with proper offset might be asking for trouble.

Most aftermarket rims with 3.5" backspacing are 8"+ wide.

why not just use stock real axle with 2" spacers out back?

Honest answer: axle seal problems. Plus I'll be welding spring perches right where the hubs would be
