Let me know if you have any questions. I'm not expert by any means, but I did drop over 220 pounds a few years ago

    It's like...almost Friday.

I kind of couldn't believe today is already Wednesday, really.

But that don't make tomorrow or Friday any easier.

I feel ya. Monday and Tuesday did move by rather quickly. Mark my words that the customer I've been waiting to hear from since last Friday will get back with me this Friday at 3:30pm and want drawings by Monday morning. Just watch

Duh. If I were a betting man, I'd be a rich man if that's what I had to bet on.

Yo, so here's my vent for the day (hopefully the week).

Liz and I have both recently interviewed for a couple jobs. Mine is obviously with a bigger shindig and I get that things get busy and making a decision about a potential new hire can fall behind other priorities. But what is with HR people? Anybody in here one or their wife one? I just want to understand so I don't get so irritated and impatient.

My rule of thumb is that I go to an interview, let's say it goes well. I send an email the next day to say "Thanks again for letting me come in and blah blah blah." Let it sit for a week or two. Then another, "Hi, hope all is well. Just wanting to touch base to see if you have any idea of a time frame to expect feedback, yadda yadda yadda."

Now here's what gets me. Regardless of whether it DID go well or not, and whether I am being considered anymore or not, wherein lies the difficulty of a simple response back?

"I do not know a timeline, sorry. They are still deliberating and I'll let you know something."
"I know things went well and there is intent, there's just a lot of hoops."
"I don't know. Let me find out and I'll get back to you."

That simple. But I can't tell you how many times it happens where you suddenly just never hear anything at all. And next thing you know it could be that you did or didn't get it. But why the darkness in between?

Liz is going through the same issue now with hers and she's starting to see the frustration I've had to deal with since getting out into the 'professional' workforce. Not much 'professional' about the way the recruiting process works if you ask me.
