    Hey guys,

Buying my first 2nd Gen, and I found one that I really like... Just want to get some opinions on price and if this is a decent buy.

    2011 Double Cab, Short Bed
    4x4
    TRD Sport
    Automatic
    New Tires
    Back up camera
    Barcelona Red on cloth
    3TMLU4EN9BM062106

    3 owners, 120k miles
    All stock!

You can see in one of the pics, there is a fair amount of surface rust.. this is the worst of it, should i be worried? Oh it appears to have tow package..

    $19k

Anything I should look out for in specific? Any questions I should ask?

    Thanks in advance!

My initial response is... hell no. A seven year old truck with three owners and 120k for $19,000.00.

However, these trucks do hold their value exceedingly well. My advice would be to buy new if you can swing it financially and plan to keep the truck for the long term.

3 owners.. makes me wonder, but it's probably fine.

19K seems where the truck should be at.

I was thinking the same, virtually none based on the pic. My rear axle on my 13' is rusted up pretty good.

The tailor hitch has a shit coating that flakes off easy, thats to be expected.

Especially in CA, based on some posts i've seen it seems like their prices are the highest in the nation for Tacoma's.

I wouldn't go out of my way to buy one from a northern state, it could have rust you can't see in pics. There's tons of Tacomas for sale in Texas.

    I wouldn't buy it for 19k, maybe 16k though.

I would think at 18 it would be a decent deal, about half of a new one.

Thats a decent price in california. I paid $22k for my trd sport 4x4 but I had almost $3k in brand new XD's and KO2's put on by the dealer the day I purchased it. Mine was one owner with toyota dealer records from 300 miles to 120k when I got it. It has the 4 leaf pack update on the leafsprings, bilstein 5100's up front, cabelas trail gear 2 mats F/R and is rust free.

Car prices are different in every state (thats why kbb and nada want your zip) but remember california is strict on emissions. I purchased a car from nevada and moved it to california and it required reg, smog, title fees, and a vehicle inspection (they are thorough and one wrong thing will fail your vehicle).

No bueno. Rust will only get worse, and it's expensive to fix. 3 owners mean 3 times the risk of how they treated it.

If you must buy it, I'd offer $16,500 and push the whole rust thing.

I only see "major" rust on the towing receiver..... or am I missing something?

You're in san jose, try looking a little more north on craigslist toward sacramento/auburn/grass valley.
