    Hey everyone,

Hoping I can get everyone's opinion here. I purchased a set of OME shocks that were brand new from a forum member. Upon receipt, one of the shocks tops was sticking out the box. No real visible damage that I can see, but I am concerned it could have been dropped where the shock is now damaged internally where I cant see. Additionally, the shocks are all scratched up because the forum member decided to put two shocks into one box with absolutely no packaging material.

    So my questions are:

    1. Any insight whether or not the shock could possibly be damaged?
    2. Am I overreacting at the fact I now need to go out, buy primer and yellow paint and repaint the shock? I bought new so I didnt have to do this kind of stuff, and now I am having to do it.
    3. In these instances, is it fair that the seller pay return shipping for their mistake?

If it was dropped, the shock would compress I would think. Should be perfectly fine youre just over reacting a little bit. Paint is nothing, don't worry about it. The threads look fine, everything looks fine, just a little scratched up.

Just check compression, hit it with some primer and paint and be done.

Mine came new just like that actually. They were fine.
If you use your truck the paint on them will be fucked anyhow so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

True but if those were sold as new and I got them like that I'd be pissed. Yes I know it's just yellow paint but still be pissed.

Agreed I would be too, just referring to the possibility of damage that will render the shock unusable

It's a shock. It's going to see much harsher bumps than the UPS driver could have delivered.

    They're fine.

It is with great regret that I must inform you ... your shocks only have 6 months to live.
