Yea man to me the cobra eliminates the conventional handset set up in favor of sticking it wherever. If having it displayed is your thing, then go for it. At that location, I honestly forget its even there because my leg sits just above it.

 

I can do that. Be advised that the mesh in the grille has some of the pieces cut to allow for the screws to be put through for the T emblem. When I remove that emblem, those will be viewable. You can take a look at the grille sometime in the future, and if you decide to keep yours, no worries.

Yea, im prob going to mount the disconnect on the dash and keep it disconnected unless im rolling and want to use it.

 

Shouldn't be an issue for him since his new emblem will cover it up.

 

Solid idea, until I scored @Arcticelf's 5 foot antenna I was always having to disconnect the antenna anytime I was at home. Now I got a whip so it makes sense without the fuss of having to remove all the time. Connecting the cb takes just a few seconds too. Will be cool to see what you decide.

 

This is so weird. I just turned peoples sigs back on, so now there is all this extra crap between posts. In the past, I was using an older computer at work for interwebs, and all the gifs and crap slowed the machine down so slow that I turned sigs off. Now that I have a newer (fairly decent) machine, I turned them back on. I actually think I like it better without them.

Nice man, since my was used and has been broken in I was able to jam my spare 2 inch foam topper in mine. Amazingly it still shuts without any stress on the straps...looking forward to crashing in that sucker with 4.5 inches of foam!

That's always a sound idea. The extra foam for mine makes it so loaded that anything other than a single sheet starts to push the outside cover so I figured with it being on year around that I don't want it to have any flex.
