Has anyone put the prinsu rack on their 2016+ Tacoma with an access cab? On prinsu website they only list till 2015. I don't really want to spend that much and find out it doesn't fit.

I had the same question, but I'm not ready to buy so I held off on reaching out to Prinsu. There is a good thread in the 2nd gen section, and it looks like there is a ton of Airbag stuff in the way, and my thinking was it might be worse on the 16+ and that is why they haven't said it will or will not work.

Well, if the roof is the same as 2nd gen, it looks like it could be done. Just need to be super careful drilling holes so you don't hit wires or air bags.

Just an update, I did reach out to Prinsu and apparently the AccessRac is compatible with 3rd gens.

Still debating to pull the trigger on this or not though. Very tempting, yet nerve racking.

Prinsu is still answering the phone, I thought I read they sold the product line to CBI. I was holding off on purchase till everything settled down a bit.

Did a lot of research, and loved the look of this rack plus all the good things people have said.

I had a local guy test fit it on a 2017 and it worked great. With all access cabs you want to pull the headliner and make sure you aren't going to hit the airbag brackets when you drill. It shouldn't be a problem on 95% of trucks but there is a little bit of variance in trucks where the bracket or wiring may sit in a different location and need to be held back while you drill.

Any chance you'd have any pictures of a rack mounted on a 3rd gen AC?

Ordered my cabrack a week or so ago for a 17' DCSB-- can't wait to get it (sometime in august). I assumed I would install it myself but it's sounding like I may take it to a local shop to get it done after reading the above comments.

It's an easy self install - just need an allen wrench and a good small ratcheting 10mm wrench and some silicone... The hardest part is just making sure you assemble it square before mounting. The weatherstripping trips people up and IMO cutting the holes to make it all pretty is a lot of work for little benefit. Cutting the weatherstrip in the areas where the bolts need to go, then adhering with a bit of silicone adhesive looks just as clean (the holes you spend all that time cutting are underneath the rack so you can't tell really even if you stand on top of your truck...) My $.02 though... for what it's worth.

Its super easy, just take your time and follow the instructions. The weatherstripping can be removed completely and not reinstalled if that is what you are worried about. Looks just as good with or without it.
