I'd like to know how you're financing all these shenanigans. I haven't been able to figure out how to not work, and I've been thinking about that for awhile...

 

Drive my FIL's Tundra. Damn does that thing have some get-up.

 

Got the call from the dealer and they're replacing the intermediate shaft and putting me in a rental. Hopefully that fixes the issue, time will tell.
If not, I'm not going to take it to Toyota Jesus. I'm referring to you @Texoma .

This is exactly what I do!

The DT @ Ben White gave me 40 each for my 4 oem tires with 5600k on them. Tim, the manager there, offered to buy my spare when I am ready as well. Ill be heading over there to trade that spare out soon.

 

Hopefully the intermediate shaft is it. Shame those little uJoints aren't replaceable.

 

Kinda like the whole "You need a whole new rack" for $50 worth of bushings situation I was reading about? I'm a Production Designer at a steel casework manufacture, I'll never understand why people don't make items serviceable.

 

I live a very frugal and minimal lifestyle.

As it stands, my first few trips will be self funded, but once I get the rhythm down I will begin freelancing and working 100% remote (that is where the habitat will come in).

I follow and am acquaintances with Dan (http://theroadchoseme.com/). He helps guide me in how long a certain budget would get me. You'd be surprised how long you can go once you got the materials, and once you base your life around becoming mobile.

 

Working maintenance I know all about serviceable items. Makes more sense to replace a seal or bearing than the entire pump or motor.

 

The phrase "they don't make them like they used to" come to mind.

 

One of my guys at work has talked me into building him a wok like the one I use at C&C (you can read that as he has bugged the shit out of me until I can't take it anymore and gave in).
While I'm building his I can build a couple more at the same time.
It will be the disk, legs & the holder for the burner and a burner.
The price will be $200, I will TRY to have them ready by the next C&C.
