4 cal turbo rumors

My concern for MPG is only due to the fact I tow between Kansas City and Wichita quite frequently.

Good news is I zip down the turnpike at 70mph without hearing screaming!

 

Mileage on these trucks are never good when towing. If your looking for good towing and mileage the obvious choice is diesel.

 

So all the money I save on fuel can go toward DEF and system breakdowns?

No thanks.

I could EASILY go for a smaller trailer for better results.

 

I towed from Atlanta to SoCal and back twice pulling a 4x6 fully loaded U-Haul with my 4 cyl 5 spd 4x4 Taco access cab and never had a problem. The truck needed third gear up the hill to Flagstaff AZ (both directions), otherwise 4th and 5th gear all the way. Well ... except the Cajon pass out of San Bernadino. It wasn't a rocket ship, but never felt like it was struggling. Towed a Chrysler Lebaron Convertible on a dolly from Socal to Atlanta with the same truck and again no sweat. Taco was stock except for 31x10.50/R15 tires.

Oh of course but I would probably upgrade the turbo or down pipe or be the first to get a custom tune done because it just isn't enough for me lol

 

Get the 4cyl 2tr engine that available now and talk to gadget at URD to supercharge it. Don't think anyone has done it yet for the 2016s models, but it's still the same engine. I almost thought about going this route cuz I had a 2013 4banger I wanted to SC

 

How awesome would that be for a 2tr replacement?!
