You're in NY private sale would be pretty high for that truck, also if you have a new frame and nothing is wrong then see if you can get a great trade in value for your truck! When I was getting those notices from the dealership they were offering like $6-8,000 below KBB on a tradein o_O:rofl:. Dealerships want good inventory and a 11 year old truck with <100,000 miles gets buyers in the door! Just don't  until you have shopped around and really want to do it.

    my $.02

I'm going to agree that your truck is already a good looking ride. Throw that invitation away and go buy a mod for your truck and a 24pk for your time.

You do not have a $15k offer for the truck, its an advertisement by Toyota.

I feel like if you can't appreciate the radiant red, please give it to someone who will. They don't sell that color anymore.

By the way, the cat in the wheel well is hilarious.

I think your truck looks good! But, if you don't like the color, could you just get it painted? Might be more cost effective than getting a new truck.

Father in law got that from Toyota for his tundra saying they'll buy it for such and such price and he'll have super low payments. He got a really good buy back price would've been more but he wrapped his truck in Seahawk vinyl. His payments were a little high but because he got a limited so worked out good. I say worst case scenario is you say no to the offer no harm done

To do it right you'd need to paint under the hood, inside the door jambs, between cab and bed, etc.. be better off selling.

My wife's 4Runner has been paid off for years. They send her BS all the time about trading it in for "top dollar" because vehicles just like hers(13 years old with 120k miles)are in HIGH DEMAND and they have buyers lined up wanting to buy it. :jerkoff:

You literally cannot trust or believe anything a car salesman says. I don't even think they're being honest when they tell you their names. :goingcrazy:

Have fun, like I do when 'Microsoft techs' call me to advise my machine is sending them error reports.

Clean the truck up (if it needs it) and go to the place. Walk in with your letter, and tell them you are interested in their 'buy back'.

They'll want to hustle you into another vehicle of course. Tell them you don't want another vehicle. You just want them to buy back your truck, like the document says.

The number you eventually get, assuming you can stand to persist long enough, will be about what the 'actual' trade in value would be.

You'll like your red paint more after you hear that number.

Kinda off topic, but similar circumstances. My old coworker had an audi, thing was only 3 years old, and not a lease so there was no "about to end soon" in this. He went in for an oil change after work and came in the next day with a brand new Audi. Mind boggling.

Have a retired family member who did the same with a RAV4. 'Upgraded', and the 'old' one was low miles, not even paid off.

And then they are disappointed they don't have the funds to travel like they would like to.

Sometimes you just have to make better choices. :notsure:

I concur - those victorian houses in san fran, etc use 3 colors - 3 colors seems to be a good number to decorate with.

My metal is red, the accents (flares, flaps, handles, etc) are black, my wheels will be factory gray when they get back from the refinish shop - I plan on doing a little grey on the bumpers and black out the badges as time permits.

My TJ was green, grey rims and black - not including rust & duct tape...

There was a time when I bought a new vehicle about every year-year and a half. I always had a damn good reason for it  and could justify it to myself all day long. I've always made larger payments so I was never upside down. I just enjoyed the "new" about it.

I've got ~2.5 years with the current Tacoma with no plans to trade her in. :burnrubber:

Yeah, nothing wrong with people who want and can afford a new car every couple of years. Personally, I buy a truck to drive for 10 years. My wife buys a vehicle to drive for 2 years. We're both happy.

Dealer called 2 hours after my last service offered to cut me a check that day to purchase my Tacoma. Told them I wasn't interested.

It's a spotless 2013, just had it washed by a detailer. He uses air to blow out the interior, under seats, nooks and crannies that can't normally be cleaned, cleans the inside of the wheels etc. Truck looked like it just came off the show room floor.

My wife gets the same notices from garcia subaru for her crosstrek. All bullshit. I could sell our 2014 crosstrek in a day for 10k more than they want to give me.
