I guess so. Or it was towed to the trailhead as a favor or something.

I had to go up that first. My bumper just barely cleared, lol.

Here is what was at the "end" of that trail:

    Trail completely blocked. :(

After reading my post, I feel like I need to clarify so not too much popcorn is eaten. This isn't directed towards Andrew or anybody in particular. Andrew brings up a great viewpoint and in the interest of conversation, not argumentation, I responded:

Whoever brings a trailer on a trail without having to is nuts. The "park style" wheeling out here is difficult by design and usually loops back around to a common area...so why wheel with a trailer when you can leave it at a campsite? One should only pull a trailer through a trail when one has to...like when doing the KAT or other EAF type stuff like out west where you're not restricted to off-road parks like here on the east coast.

Trailers don't really "flex"...sure they have suspension, but they pitch and roll more than flex. If you want a trailer, get one. Things are usually a great idea until other people's opinion matter more than ones own.

Some people don't want to keep their tent on their truck full time... Personally, I did a trailer because hefting a tent up and down off my shell is something I don't want to do. Easier to buy a $400 trailer for the tent that I can just hitch up and go. Plus, I won't have to break up camp to hit a trail for a few hours to loop right back around and have to setup again. For me, the pros outweigh the cons.

You'd know better than me...but doesn't the dealership have the ability to take care of you without going through corporate? I understand they won't be reimbursed for part, but they could do it to keep a customer?

My CV boot ripped and I got the same denial as you...glass and rubber not covered. So I paid out of pocket to have the boot repaired...boot slipped off and slung shit everywhere. They wanted to change out the whole axle but warranty wouldn't cover it since they had record of the boot claim denial. Dealership put in new axle at no additional cost to me.

It says plain as day on the TSB that it's covered under warranty. But yeah, they can appeal for what's called a "one time good will" where Toyota will cover something that isn't under warranty. And of course the dealer can eat it themselves but, in this instance, they shouldn't have to eat it, nor should they waste a goodwill on something that clearly a warrantable repair.

I agree...especially if it's in black and white on the TSB.

Yeah- was a little ominous to see. It was a sign for us to take it easy. Traveling solo with family in July- just did not want to take any chances.

Then we saw the boulders had fallen too.

Yesterday was the first day with no rain/ stroms since we left San Diego. My truck has been sand blasted from the straight line winds.

@Bubbles why is the dealer holding your truck? In hopes to get the door seal fixed? Or is there another issue?

    Just curious. :)

Because the folks that I know are off today, and the ticket isn't closed. They don't wanna get chewed out by their boss, whom I know, and they won't be but they're just covering their ass. Which as much as it annoys me, I understand.
