What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Yes the swap will work just fine and actually, you don't a have to swap belts at all due to the dynamic tensioner. It'll take up any of the small amount of change the GM alt will present on the belt.

So just do some wiring and slap it in!

 

What are centercaps?

 

That bumper needs to be mounted in your man cave..

Your best bet is to get a manual transmission ecu.

 

Anyone have like an ebrake cable diagram with part numbers?

I've tried looking but haven't really found anything.

Also does anyone know if a guy can just replace one piece of the cable or the whole thing? I tore the passenger side off...

Swapping the engine harness would suck...but it would be the cleanest way to do it and you have everything there to do it. Id just do that and use the manual ecu you have. Not fun..but be better in the long run.

 

I think the engine harness isn't the hard part, looks like it'll come right out with the engine, but the body harness is a mystery to me. I know I have to change the dash harness but what about the wiring to the pedals and fuel pump. Is all that affected too.

 

Okay I am currently under a 1995 4Runner right now. I want to take the transfer case, can I remove this crossmember or will the whole transmission lean down?

 

A 95 4 runner is a second gen, nothing from it would be compatible with your truck.

 

Also I think I'll be using this instead of relocating my crossmember. Looks like a solid design and allows for easier installation of dual cases in the future.

Oh son of a bitch really? Well I'm already invested into getting this damn transfer case out might as well take it.

 

96-02 is a 3rd gen 4Runner. That's what's compatible with our trucks.

 

I see. This 4Runner has an A340H tranny. Would nothing work at all?

 

The tcase doesn't even drop on the same side as a Tacoma. The A340H is a slightly primitive version of yours. Technically you could mount that tcase but it would be useless as it is passenger drop.

Finally finished my roof rack. Bought a beat up cap back in the spring for $100. It's not the right color, and it's scratched to shit, so I might paint or derp it black down the road. Then my dad welded some cross bars for me for free. Ordered some tracks online for $45, and found the basket for $75 on another forum. For under $250, and with all the imperfections, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
