Does anyone have any input on range finders? I'm thinking I need one for up to 1000 yds.

I've found the simplest tools to be the best....banjo slicer, a couple good sharp knives and a decent cutting board.

That's the good thing about working on the weekends and having some weekdays off. Less crowds around especially at the boat ramp.

    Absolutely ......
All the action is on the weekends. People still work.
If it rains on sat. It's horrible on Sunday.

...just started the coals. Brought back some venison and elk...enough for a couple dinners. My wife invited my son and his gf for steaks, so I'm going to grill some beef and venison just in case the gf doesn't like venison...she's a huge Disney fan and I'm sure as soon as she hears it's buck meat she'll be envisioning Bambi.

Yep I recommended the Vortex to @Cypherian he can tell you what he thinks when he comes along. Hopefully it is good LOL. You would want these I think if your going to 1K

I've always wanted the Swarovski bino 1,500 yard combo or a Leica but don't have $3k laying around to spend on them.
