I've been loading dirt bikes in my truck for the last couple years but now that my son has a bigger bike, I find myself loading the bikes at the extreme sides of the bed. I've tried using the bed cleats but they flex under load and I"m really not comfortable trusting my bikes on the horrible dirt road with that much slop. I wonder if anyone knows what these are called (circled in red)? I'm planning to install one near the floor dead center.

    Thanks!

Install d-rings to to bed bolts on the floor of the bed. The bolts go to the frame and will alow you to crank the bike/atv suspension down to where the bike doesn't move at all during transit.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/installed-d-rings-in-the-bed-pics.28533/

Amazon has 10 packs of 1000lb working/ 3klbs break strength rings for <20$, but the dodge van d-rings are plug and play, more expensive.

I've been trying to find the 'other' d ring part number for quite sometime as well. It's not prominately available or displayed on the various dealer parts trees.

Those clips your showing are just screwed into the plastic bed of the truck. They would rip right out with a dirtbike tied to them.

You should get a motorcycle tie down bar across the front. I bought this, he was a member here. Not sure if he still sells it but try contacting him.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm really looking for an anchor point in the middle. There aren't bed bolts there.

I appreciate this suggestion as well however, I imagine the shipping to Hawaii would be ridiculous. And those D-Rings do not "rip right out" with dirt bikes, were not talking about allot of force here, just enough to keep things from moving. I use a fork protector for the seals and I can cinch the outer links down tight but the bed rail component in the middle is sloppy.

Thanks for the part number but that is for the black rings at the rear of the bed on the floor. I had considered those at $25/pair but was really just looking for the silver one. Unless I cut my bed mat and install this on the floor, I dont the shape of the front wall will allow for that rear backing plate to install.

Thanks again every one, sounds like I might be hunting for a while.

I really need a solid tie down in the center. I've got no issues with the ones in the corners, in fact, that is the exact bit i'm looking to add to the center of the bed.

Perhaps add a 2$ miltary d-ring at the center of the bed with a backing plate, an inexpensive compromise. As you are aware the bed material is robust and this would be unlikely to pull though. The Toyota rings come with one but a piece of scrap would be cheaper.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the backing plate for the OEM ring?

It appears to be shaped to fit between the ridges on the bed , so you could measure that. but I could be wrong about that.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Was hoping someone could verify cuz if it fits, I'll install one front center or maybe both.

Those are cool! The problem I see though, is that some tweaker at Walmart is going to steal them for scrap.

Yes this is true but we all know it takes 10 seconds to remove. So put them in when in use and take them off when you dont need them. Trying to come up with a cool storge case

That's slick looking but the weak point is the flexing of the bed at the front rail. The bed flexes before the cleat.

the reason i made these is because my dirtbike fell out of my truck twice. Both times the cleat broke. This is a fix for that. Ive heard of cleats breaking not railing pulling out of bedsides.

That's nuts. I've noticed that the front rail flexes very easily.

    I like these options
