My trail reports are boring compared to yours.

I hope to keep it that way:anonymous:

This is one of a multitude of reasons why I like Black Mountain.....Water holes seem to be "less deep".

Soon. But what are the effects, if any, of it being in the tire long term?

Seriously....I've aired down and re-inflated with CO2 a total of 12 times. 10 were with my 265/75r16 Duratracs. 2 times (so far) with the 285/75r16 Cooper STT Pro's. I've found out that when you re-inflate in HOT weather, the tire pressure will tend to drop 3 or 4 psi over the next week or so. In every case, the psi was the same as inflated when I got home, but apparently after a couple heat/cool (from driving) cycles, the psi will drop some. In cool/cold weather, there doesn't seem to be that same drop off. Haven't re-inflated the Coopers in cool/cold weather (yet) but they experienced the same psi drop after RRG, about a week later. No "scientific" explanation so far. I don't see this as a huge issue. I simply check psi a week or so later and adjust accordingly.

With the Duratracs....I put almost 40k miles on them after the first time I used CO2. Never experienced any issues with the tires (other than that 3 or 4 psi drop) A buddy bought 'em from me and put them on a Jeep Cherokee. He's put another 10K on them and has no issues. I did run a nail into one of the Duratracs. I used a standard "radial plug" to plug the hole. It held and is still holding, so no problem with the rubber/making repairs.

That's all I got...About 55k miles worth of anecdotal evidence spread over 2 sets of tires, deflated/re-inflated a total of 12 times.

Like they say....No news is good news.
