Looking for someone in the San Antonio or surrounding area that is a mechanic on small engines and can perform a diagnostic/repair on my atv's. Don't want to overpay at the dealer so if I can avoid to do so why not... I have a 2007 Honda TRX250EX and Can-Am DS250. Both have been sitting for a few years back home in El Paso and I finally brought them back with me.

I worked on them this weekend and was able to get both to turn over and start using the choke but they don't stay on very long. Both batteries are pretty much new I had them checked out. I cleaned out the carb and unclogged the jets on the Honda and can-am. I was able to change the oil on the Can-am but wouldn't start back up again after. I assume the solenoids are both good since they were able to start up. Now I am clueless.....

If you know of anyone PLEASE send me their way!

I have a few suggestions for you.
First, have you emptied all of the old gas out? Run a can of SeaFoam with new premium ethanol free gas.
Second, how far apart did you disassemble the carbs? Completely? Or just shoot cleaner in the intake. I'd completely disassemble them to clean them and put back together, after the seafoam try. Also, put new fuel lines on.
Third, have you checked you spark? Your plug may be fouled, I suggest replacing it.
If you need any more help, let me know, I can certainly get you taken care of cheaper than the dealer.
