I'm looking to get new leaf springs for my 98 ex cab TRD, mine are toast as well as my rear and front shocks. I have had this truck for a few months now and it looks as though one of the previous owners took off the stock shocks (bilstein) and put on junk, not sure about the leaf springs except they're really sagging and say "made in mexico"? I've also been noticing the back end coming completely off the ground when a i hit big bumps or potholes. As is the case with most people money is the issue, i have a friend who's got his used shocks off of his 04 TRD ex cab and is willing to hook me up with them (i believe they have about 80 -90k on them). So with his stock bilsteins, what leaf springs would be best? I'd like to do some dakar then when i have more funds do a small lift. Could i do ome dakar leaf with stock shocks? I don't want to do dorman, haven't read anything positive on them. I also have a fiberglass camper, weighs maybe 150ish lbs. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You already posted this in "Suspension." Your title isn't very informative. Might want to change it to something a little more meaningful. Or you could do more research. I'm sure you can find the answer here somewhere in the 1st gen section.

And "what leaf springs would be best" is very subjective. Best for what? It really depends on what you plan to do and your budget. There are plenty of Tacomas with caps that have stock leaf springs.

Sorry but wasn't sure if i had posted in the right spot then tried to delete it. I'm looking for a set of leaf springs that aren't shit basically. I don't do any heavy 4wheeling or carry too much weight besides the topper as mentioned. If i could I'd do all new suspension all the way around but can't afford that at the moment. I was interested in the ome dakar leaf pack and was thinking if i got those and took out a leaf, would they work with my stock rear shocks?, then in the future when i did new shocks i could add the leaf back in. I've also considered general spring, read some decent reviews on their products. Other reviews i've read aren't very positive for the dorman leaf pack either.

All pro, Dakar, Alcan, Deaver, Wheelers, all are good brands. Just pick a price point you're willing to spend.
