So im about to start my next project which is a bed rack. Im planning on using 11 gauge 1x1 steel with 1/4" base plates attached to 3x1 rectangle or channel. But here is some progress pictures. I have been building this in sketchup for a week or two fine tuning details. This rack should be 100-125lbs with powder coat. This rack will hold my spare 33" and a rtt when that gets bought... But im hoping this will work out fine. I will also be adding a accessory plate to each side to add rotopax, hilift, other misc.. stuff. Im also thinking about a water tank in the very front in front of where the spare will be also.

Update: just ordered the 1x1 11 gauge and will get the bed plates bent and ready to go.

Ive decided on 3x1 rectangle tubing. So if i need to ever to add accessories i can drill and install a rivnut for ease of use.

Now your thinking, what's the added weight to that from 1x1?

3x1 is for the bed legs to the bed rail.
