I just realized this...would I have any issues with a third brake light if the RTT is covering it?

Worst case you fail because of that, then just take off your RTT, go back, pay your $1 to reinspect, and problem solved. Or get a small red LED strip to mount to your bed rack so you have a 3rd brake light.

Im tempted to make some sort of remote light on the same brake light circuit. Might need to look more into this...

Boom. New 3rd brake light, and can also be wired to be constantly amber for an off road rear light to cut through dust.

So after digging through 32 pages on the VooDoo bed rack thread, I'm 99.8% certain I'm getting one of those things. Someone please buy my bedbars first though!

so your antenna will be inside sticking out the topper rear window zipper? I never thought about it either until I got the shell and then got the @Shmellmopwho CB mount it sticks out of shell off the two bolt tabs just inside tailgate and fits perfect. ran coax up out of rear driver brake light and up into mount with firestick hd mount and spring coil with quick disconnect and it worked great and got good readings when tuned. Get the 18 ft cable to reach your cb and run it like david did unto the driver side grommet near door and front seat up into cab. @Superman910 and @Coot83 helped me. I retuned it a few weeks back in an open area after I ordered a cheap swr meter and relay. Quick disconnect is great because I can leave it on mount and no water gets into it and leave the antenna in shell secured and out of sight until I need to use it on trail or trips.

I wonder if that can be wired into my current plug that my Leer used to use for its brake light.

Im def thinking when I get my new bed rack made to have this attached to the bed rack and have a disconnect at the bottom of the bed rack so I can remove it when not in use.
