    Running Spidertax 1.25" not for the look but to get more clearance for bigger tires. Done some harsh roads and have no issues so far. I don't see big difference between spacers and smaller offset wheels other than extra connection point. Check your spacer/wheels torque and you will be fine. And yes it looks better for sure if that's what you're after

    This is the main reason I went with spacers. I couldn't talk myself into buying new wheels and tires when mine were new and I just spent a fortune on a lift. I have had them for over three years and I have went off roading quite a bit and I have had no issues.

    I understand the patriotism, but care to back this up with some data points? I've been running ebay spacers for years on multiple vehicles with no issues whatsoever. As long as they are hub centric, i don't see the reason for spending extra on a name brand.

    I'm not trying to be argumentative, help me understand what makes one hunk of billet aluminum better than another.

    For OP, I vote yes. also, 1.25 on a street vehicle is not going to stress your bearings. These trucks can't generate enough lateral grip to make this an issue.

    All good. Not the first person to ask. Actually it has zero to do with patriotism and everything to do with safety.

    I do a lot of manufacturing business in China every day. I've had large scale manufacturing facilities in Shenzhen, Fuyong, Zhongshan, and soon another in Zhongshan. I deal with a wide array of raw materials, including aluminum. I'm also very familiar with the supply chain, exports to the USA, and all the dirty tricks that come with it. China is very capable of producing a legit wheel spacer from the same 6061-T6 aluminum and manufacturing quality as America. China is also capable of taking lower grade aluminum, and in some cases, reworked or salvaged scrap, and turning that into a legit looking wheel spacer, and putting whatever label they want on it to export it to the USA. Also, I don't have faith in Chinese steel for the studs either - but that discussion can turn into a chemistry lesson aint nobody got time for. I've seen "Stainless Steel" labeled hardware rust almost immediately in the field and almost lost customers over it. I've seen chain links and ball bearings that weren't quite completely melted in *new orders* of steel stock. Moving metal around the globe can get shady real quick. Iron from China is another shit show, but another story for another time.

    You can't get away with that mislabeling here, and it could be devastating for an American business to try it. I know I don't plan on pulling my spacers out of the box and having the aluminum tested to make sure it's 6061 and T6 Tempered (Correctly) or whatever it should be. I just want to bolt them on and go. The minuscule costs savings are not worth risking getting a low grade product or one that lacks sufficient quality control. If your wheel falls off going down the highway at 80mph, you're gonna need a lot more than the $50-100 you saved by going Ebay spacers over USA Made. I can't think of a more catastrophic failure while driving than a wheel coming off. Too little savings for too much risk imo. I've ran ebay spacers on old beat Hondas back in my younger days - but I'm not doing that with a $40k truck at this stage in life, especially knowing what I know.

    Edit - Also my 1.25" SpiderTrax are holding on my 12" wide, -44 offset wheels with 35's. No way in hell I'm saving $100 to risk holding these onto my truck. We'll see how long my wheel bearings last. Coming from a big wheel/crazy offset/no fucks given automotive background, I'm skeptic of all the paranoia regarding this.

    Thank you for the thoughtful reply. The question of Chinese quality was not my argument - I'm well aware of the potential issues and I am particular about the engineering aspects of the products I buy, especially those that operate in stressed duty cycles. Perhaps this is naive, but I don't believe I am stressing this part of my truck in its function as a commuter vehicle. I am obsessive about maintenance and a wheel falling off is not a situation I would ever entertain. That being said, I would NEVER run a part of questionable quality on my track car. The forces are way greater and the chance for a failure is much higher.

    However you make a valid point about the cost benefit ratio :)

    Anyway, appreciate the discussion.

    Decided to go with the BORA wheel spacers.

    My question is, what is a good, reasonably spacer width? SpiderTrax only have 1.25" while BORA more options. I am not sure which to pick to give my truck a decent wider stance with the least issues.

    These will go on a 2017 Tacoma TRD OR with stock powdercoated wheels and stock tires.

    Thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

    IMO 1" would be best since you're still on stock tires that aren't very aggressive. Sticking out too far would look silly to me.

    I'm also considering Bora either 3/4" or 1". Keep in mind with the smaller spacers you may have to cut (shorten) your factory studs unless your rims have recesses for them.
