hello, has anyone installed a bedrug? I have a 2008 tacoma and am looking at putting one in since I can not do a spray in bedliner. Problems? how do they last and/or hold up to loads? I have to get barrels of feed for our house and wondering how the liner will do.
    Thanks
    Todd

Why do you want a soft, fuzzy bed rug as the alternative to the hard, durable, potentially abrasive bed liner?

I'm curious how the rug is the next best thing. What do you intend to do to the bed that you want a rug since you can't have a bed liner sprayed in?

Bedrug is for those who want to crawl around or sleep in the back of the truck.

Bedliner is built to withstand banging, thrashing, scraping.

    Very different things.

I got the truck used and they did a lot of damage to the sides of the plastic bed liner that comes with the truck, looking to improve the bed.

hello Kyitty (Mr. Beard) Thanks for the reply. good to see someone from MT. Born and raised there and now in Nevada. As I said above, just need to make the truck look decent, they did a bad job of fixing the damage.

Bed rugs are designed for topper use, not an open bed. It will mold pretty quick and look downright weird.

Can you post pictures of your bed damage? You MIGHT be able to get away with a paint job if you prep and do a good job. But it will chip over time. Bedliners like Line-X won't adhere very well and will flake. If the danage is bad you may have to live with it or spend big money and replace the bed.

Get the thick rubber mats from tractor supply, they work great in the bed.

This is how I did mine. Good material. Very durable and can withstand the abuse
