The Trd upgrade package in Canada comes with

    Blind spot monitoring
    wireless charging
    sunroof
    rear traffic alert system

all for 1600 CAD plus taxes.

Im debating it is worth it. the dealer says it is . Im a little sceptical . Clear my mind please.

I can care less about the sun roof, and the rest , but i am interested in resale 8 years or so from now.

    thanks

Most people get the TRD offroad package for the upgraded shocks and crawl control features.

Or TRD sport for the hood and rear sport LSD and tighter shocks.

This is purely an opinion based issue.

Do YOU think spending $1,600 for phone charging, a sunroof, and babysitters is worth it?

Is this somehow different from the TRD OFF-ROAD or TRD Sport packages? This sounds more like a tech package.

Only you can decide this. If you all you care about is resale then it's a wash really. There will not be a significant difference in resale between either configuration 8 years from now.

For me not worth it at all. Only reason I got a TRD OR was the locker and crawl mode. As gimmicky as crawl is, I wanted it just in case. If crawl didn't exist I would have bought an Sr5 to save money for modding.

I suppose it's really a matter of opinion on most of those, however a well optioned truck will always be worth more in the long run.

If you have never had a vehicle with Blind Spot Monitoring or Cross Traffic Alert, they both can be extremely helpful and can be easily turned off. I'm glad I got my truck before all the other Safety Sense features were added...

Well, I'm pretty sure a Dealer rep would never lie.

Having said that, the only time I open my sunroof is when I fart. I do live in this God forsaken desert though. You might get more utilization up there in the Great White North.

Nice boys, you've helped me with my decision on the upgrade package. i have those options in our highlander and honestly i don't trust them anyhow.

    Thanks again TW

if you are tall, 6' or over, the sunroof will cramp your headspace.
and the wireless charger is largely useless.

Sounds like you'd be wasting your money. Never buy a vehicle for the next owner.

I didn't get it because of the reasons stated above. I couldn't sit straight with the sunroof due to a lack of headroom, my iPhone doesn't charge on the wireless charging and I use the old fashion blind spot monitoring that most people don't know exists where I live, turning my head.

If you don't want the sunroof, then I wouldn't bother with the tech package.
