I drive a 2000 tacoma v6 trd, every time I fire it up, she idles at about 1.2 rpms much longer than it should before it levels out at .8 rpms. Also while I'm driving, it sounds like the engine is sucking in alot of air especially as I let off the gas and push in the clutch.

I've been having this problem for a while now and can't figure it out. So far I've cleaned the throttle body, cleaned the air filter, changed the fuel filter, oil changes, spark plugs and made sure the throttle cables were functioning correctly.
If anyone has any idea what this (possibly vaccume lines?) please let me know it's driving me nuts..

Have you cleaned the MAF sensor with MAF sensor cleaner? Not electrical cleaner. But they actually have MAF sensor cleaner to use.

I have seen this be a stuck thermostat (stuck open.) It can make the idle be higher than normal.

the throttle body itself is probably wore... wiggle it axially and close it manualy and it should drop down to normal idle, quick cheap and easy test. If that does not change the idle then I would look at the IAC under the throttle body.

This. My iac got stuck, cleaned it and the throttle body and found that the throttle body was worn out. Had to replace it.
