Hey everyone, my name is Patel and this is my first truck I ever had and I'm glad I got this truck. I have to say this is one of the most helpful forum page out there. I eventually plan on going full long travel someday.:yay: will finish writing this up tomorrow...

    Currently how she sits 03/18/2020.

So I bought the truck back in May of 2013 brand spankin new off the lot. The dealership had to special order the truck in this color with the tan interior.
    IMG_1639 copy.jpg
I originally wanted the scion frs but I had to get something for work and more practical as a daily driver. I didn't really start to do mods immediately; I waited until I paid it her off. So one of the first mod I done and I think most people do is plasti dipped the wheels cause it's the cheapest haha.

    IMG_8942 copy.jpg

Soon after that I found Tacomaworld and I started looking at what other people are doing and seeing how really big the tacoma community is. The next mod I did was the light bar; its one of those cheap light bar I paid about $100 for it. Its bright as f$#k!
    IMG_8965.jpg

My next mod was the K&N cold air intake; I was looking around on the forum and seeing how to increase your mpg and I came across about adding a cold air intake. I was already getting about 24mpg which is good, but I was trying to squeeze in a little bit more in because gas prices in 2014 were averaging about $3.70 a gallon. Which was high and sometimes up to $4.00 which is crazy. So once I installed it I gained about 2mpg and wasn't that noticeable, but I did see a slight increase in throttle response and the awesome whistling noise lol. I don't have a picture for this.

After that I didn't do much to her for a while, kept her like that for about two years. Then in 2016 I finally bought a camper shell paid like $1800; kinda feel like I got ripped off cause it doesn't even included some features like the Yakima Rack or the interior lights I wanted.

    20170106_155047.jpg
    20170116_112012.jpg

Next was the lift; My budget was tight but at the same time I didn't want to go cheap and have a shitty ride quality. I already knew that I will need new UCA's in order to clear the tires that I was going to get and also have a good alignment. so that was about $500 I have to spend just on that and I still have to get the springs and struts. I ended up getting the toytec/eibach 2.5 lift springs and some bilsteins 5100s struts and shocks for about 400ish. In total I spent about $900 just for the front lift and I haven't even done the rear completely. All I done was I added some bilstein extended shock because I was low on money and I thought since I'm going to go long travel in the future why spend another $500 bucks for something that I'll have to sell.

    Before:20170308_091947.jpg
    After: 20170308_162402.jpg

Next up were the wheels and tires. I really wanted the RAY 10s but they were almost always sold out and takes them a couple months before they can sell again. So I ended up getting some wheels from FN Wheels; great customer service BTW! I like the bronze/gold color, it flows with the spruce green color of the truck. Now the tires were the hardest to choose from; I was stuck between the KOs or the Cooper ST MAXX. I wanted the skinny tires because this was my daily and didn't want to sacrifice mpgs, and didn't want to do major cutting to fit wider tires. I ended up going with the ST MAXX because of its aggressive sidewall and better looking tread pattern.

I got a quote in town and they wanted $1350 for them :annoyed:. So I said f#!k this and I looked online and the they were a lot cheaper. So I placed the order on Tires-easy.com for $960 shipped which is a good deal. They shipped quick I got them in 3 days.

    I got them in.

Just wanted to see how they look lol

Nice truck. You get any rubbing issues with this tire and wheel combo?

Thanks man! I have slight rubbing when I go fast (i.e 60mph) on the dirt and hit a dip on the road I hit my upper pinch weld; but regular driving I'm clear all the way, even at full lock. I just need to bend back the pinch weld and I'll be good. My specs for my alignment is 3.5 castor, -1 camber, 0 toe.

No cmc; I only hit the pinch weld when I hit a deep dip on the road. On road I don't rub at all, I'm clear at full lock, but I did have to do trim some plastic off of the fender flares.
