Just brought my Tacoma in for the recall and they found signs of rear diff leaking. They told me (Gateway Toyota - Edmonton AB) that the truck would be grounded for a while (up to 2 weeks!) while they service this problem.

Is anyone else experience the same timeline?

Did they give you a loaner?

I would do exactly this if they weren't providing a loaner. But if they are loaners are a lot of fun!

Last loaner i had for nav/ecu issues i got a ram bighorn, quite enjoyed how big it was for day to day. But impractical for my camping/skiing/ overland usage.
So ill stick with my taco.

I brought mine into Mayfield Toyota. Everything was fine. But I was told if they found a problem that it would have to be grounded and they would provide me with a vehicle.

My 2016 is not part of the recall, but when I took it in for the 15,000 mile service, they found seepage. Not serious, but they will replace the seal when I get back from a trip I have planned.

at least they gave you something similar.
a lot of people got like corollas lol.

For those that use their truck as a truck IE use the bed for storage, a corolla is as useless as diesel in a petrol engine would be.

Doesn't the Ram 1500 already have several current recalls?

Do you need to know, or care?
Mine was recalled but no seepage. So they re-torqued and away I went. Was in for regular service.

The ram would have waaay more power way better transmission more room, better ride. Not as good in tight spaces or off road but they are fine trucks that had (years ago ) a bad reputation

    This.
I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the RAM felt in terms of power and handling. Much smoother ride than the Tacoma and gobs more power. Albeit my loaner is plain jane with zero bells and whistles, it doesn't hide the fact that these trucks have come a long way.
