Unfortunate to hear the 2nd Gen's have this concern as well. I had a 3rd Gen and had my fluid checked by my local mechanic (I didn't want to deal with the dealer BS). It wasn't as bad as others, but I was 3/4 quarts low.

I sold the 3rd Gen and picked up a 2nd Gen (2014) and I should be getting it in my hands early July (in Hawaii, shipping from one island to another). It only has 13.5K on the odo, so I hope there hasn't been much damage or wear. I'll be taking it in to my same local mechanic.

Shitty to hear, but glad this forum brought it to my attention.

I have seen this mentioned a few times but No clear answers. Conflicting temperature checks. I have a buddy that is a tech and insist that temp check is 97-115. My Haynes manual says 97-115. Multiple excellent write ups on this forum state 115-130. I have a 2012 TRD Sport 4.0 4X4 with Tow Package and I'm going to do the drain and fill for the 3X and every time I do this I rack my brain about the temperature differences. Anybody have ideas to why these are differing? Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm not sure why there's a difference in the stated trans temps so I just shoot for 115 and know that's going to be close.
