Correct, its a pretty big hole but when sealed and installed correctly wont create any leaking issues.

I don't have any pictures of the modification but we clearanced the driver side of his Y-pipe behind the t-case to fit his Pelfreybilt T-Case skid

Truck still got the body mount chop but the 255s fit well. A little narrow for my taste on the 3rd gens but alot easier to fit than say a 285/75

10-4, I think I prefer the narrow tires over the wide. I've got a set of 33x12.5" wide tires on my '89 and they are scary in the winter here in the Upper peninsula especially with such a light truck as the '89

They're a great size for 1st gens or guys that want to use their stock wheels. I ran them on my 2001 4Runner with good results but for softer stuff or times when you need a wide foot print when aired down a 285 is still going to be a better option IMHO

Nice build. Too bad you lose the blind-spot monitoring with that rear bumper.

Blind spot monitoring is still there and working. They have cutouts in the bumper for the sensors

My bad. I was talking about the larger square sensors on the sides of the stock bumper. Not the disk ones on the back. I didn't think the large ones could sense
    through steel.

This is correct, you do lose your BSM sensors with any steel bumper, the parking sensors are incorporated into the new bumper tho since they are exposed to the outside of the vehicle. BSM sensors cannot project through steel which is likely why the bumper corners are made of plastic now on the stock bumpers

I do recall seeing one aftermarket bumper on TW that did incorporate cutouts for the BSM sensors that had plastic covers over them.
But I can't remember who made it.

any update on how they like the deaver expedition leaf springs? are they the 300-400 rated ones or the 2/3 expedition packs? I'm getting ready to get the expedition pack but curious which one this build went with...
