Lift isn't how you clear tires. Unless you add a bump stop or change some geometry your tire is still going to be stuffed into the wheel well the same amount as stock.

In keeping with the original question... service after the sale is just as important as the product themselves, having said that, I need some replacement shafts for my sand rail. I was informed today that Fox is at minimum 3 months out for production. I sure hope that I can get these parts before desert season starts in October. I just might be converted to King.

Been a while, anyway, Kartek had the shafts in stock for those of you that might need better service.

Talk to @dirtedreamer about that. He might be able to help you sooner than 3 months... yikes

How did you like the 6112 set up over all? Are you much more impressed with the Kings? I am debating between 6112/Fox/Kings. I am willing to wait and save. I just wonder in the end if I really need Fox or Kings. I am pretty set on a 1.5 inch lift, 265/75/16 tires. I like to off-road but am pretty new to it and can't see going crazy. Thanks!

Fox and King have linear pistons which can be progressive with an aggressive flutter stack. But the way most of these are tuned is close to linear.

I know Icon used to sell digressive 2.0 shocks because I was an engineer at the factory where they were made. But I'm not sure if their new shocks are digressive, would need to see a piston.

Digressive has better handling at the expense of small bump compliance. Linear is the way to go for Tacoma shocks.

Here's an article comparing Fox and King. http://accutuneoffroad.com/articles/fox-vs-king-2-0-coilover-shock-comparison/

Here are a couple articles comparing their adjusters:

So, I've had the kings for a while and I can give some honest feedback

First, I really liked the city drivability of the 6112/5160 set up. It handled very well in LA and the crappy roads making the ride 10x's better than the oem set up. It absorbed the bumbs very well. That being said, it didn't handle large bumps and bottoming out very well. It was very harsh but only on the worst of the large bumps.

The Kings don't handle as well on the small bumps of the city. It's not bad at all and better than the oem set up as well but it's a tiny bit bouncy. Maybe I haven't found the perfect stiffness with the adjustable ability. On the the bigger bumps it's much better. Much much better. It handles a bottom out as well. 40/50mph on fire roads is no issue. Where the others would struggle on that. It's better the harder you push them.

So there is my honest feed back from having both.

I really enjoyed my 6112/5160 set up. And if you're going to do some mild off road (not rock crawling and a little slower on the fire roads) this is an excellent set up and an amazing bang for the buck. At around 1k this application would be great for 90% of people. If you like to push it a little harder and like to drive fast on dirt. The kings are amazing but you'll enjoy them less around town than you would the others.

Hope this helps and you guys get what you want

I noticed you are 4x4 with a 2.5" lift, did you do a diff drop and/or extended brake lines to compensate for extra 1" drop? Just asking because I'm looking to do the same setup. Thanks
