I took mine in on Saturday, and it had seepage. They tightened it up and told me they'd call when the parts came in to set up an appointment. My service writer told me that only 1 in 100 trucks were bad enough to hold hostage while they waited for parts.

I called Toyota corporate today. They assigned me a case number and said a case manager will call me back by COB tomorrow to see what they can do for me. They said they have no idea when the parts will be available for the fix. I was polite and professional with the customer service agent I spoke with, but I let her know that I was less than satisfied with how this has been handled so far and hope they can make it right. Fingers crossed they do the right thing.

Wow you get a whole new axel?? Most of us are only getting bolts and seals, some not even new bolts.

After calling Toyota corporate, it took less than two days for me to get a loaner truck when I was originally told by the dealer that was impossible. Bye bye, Corolla. This will be my ride until my truck is fixed. 2017 TRD OR DCLB. I still miss MY truck and can't wait to get it back though.

Yours must have been low on fluid. They replace the gears if they can only drain out so much fluid. I cannot remember the exact amount that has to be missing before they make that call.

Ignore the online part (no recall) and respond based on the mailing.

Given how awful the transmission is on my 2016 Tacoma just to save some gas, that the Tundra is "Outdated, poor gas mileage, but powerful, proven and reliable" sounds pretty appealing. Next spring I think I might get one before Toyota ruins that truck too. I consider the Gen 3 Tacoma a learning experience, and an expensive one at that.

Well, I got a call from my dealer on Thursday (7/20) saying they had performed the recall and I could come get my truck. The invoice was for over $1,400.00. I'm glad it's done and I finally have my truck back!
