Im going off topic, but I think our grandparents generation would be shocked at what coddled pussies we have become. (I am including myself here) I bitch because I have to pay 150.00 per month to have HD tv. I get pissed because my 42" plasma is too small and I want another one and wont be happy untill I get it. Its important that I spend 80 bucks a month for lawn fertilizer, because it looks damn fine and weed free. If my dvr fugs up and loses the recording of american idol I didnt see yet, I will come unglued and take it out on the dog. It makes sense to spend 300.00 on bed sheets.( Im worth it, damnit!) The basic needs are completely taken for granted, and luxuries are the new standard needs.

I have forgotten what I was trying say, or even my point, but I bet that it was brilliant!

Oh, yeah - I get mad when someone makes fun of my $30,000 truck.

I get mad when I spend $30,000 on a truck and then have to take it in and waste a day getting truck springs put on it

Sold my TM yesterday for 79 for a nice 7% in one month - try that in a savings account!!! If any of you ever want a hobby that can more than pay for itself - intelligent, risk managed stock investing can be a great one!!!

Now to see where it goes. Closed Friday at 79.56... after hours trading closed at 79.94. In my earlier days of trading I would have said I lost out on that rise. Today and with the volatility/finickiness of the market, I focus on the fact that 7 percent/84 percent annualized. With some trades I sell 50-75 percent of the stock and let the rest ride to a point that I feel would be a second target. I didn't in this case since it didn't go down enough after my first trade to buy more.

I think if healthcare passes, they will be in a better position to out perform their competitors (Ford).

I still have 80% of mine I bought in mid-February. I sold 10% of it at $79.01 and 10% of it at $79.51. I still have a end-of-2Q target of $85 and will continue to drop off 5-10% every 2-4 weeks assuming the rise continues. My original purchase was at $72.70 so I'm very happy. I much prefer bleeding off shares throughout a rise... I may not get as much as is theoretically possible but, as you mentioned, the finicky nature of the market is tough to predict and I can't watch the prices on a hourly or even daily basis.

I think Toyota is already in a position to out-compete the other car companies and I looked at the recall fiasco as a chance to get in at a rare low period. Considering as recently as January 2010 the stock was over $90 this was something I had to jump on.
