Mine is sitting in the post office, I went to pick it up tonight and they wouldn't give it to me as customs was owing and they just shut down their machine (20 mins earlier then closing time). I'll get it tomorrow morning.

Picked it up this morning, all is well, the positive cable on the pump is one of those weird connectors. Not a biggie, I will switch it out to something I have lying around.

    Thanks

    Steve

These look great. Definitely saving this thread. Question about the pump's durability - can it run for a minute or two with no pressure release without burning out,and let's say the switch gets hit for whatever reason where it is mounted but it's not hooked up to a water source, how long can it run dry without dying?

You can mount the switch in the cubby if you prefer to have it in a safer location. The pump is not a full duty pump so its not meant to run continuously, however a minute or 2 will be just fine. It has thermal protection so if it does run too long or runs dry and heats up, itll shut down until its safe to restart again. I wouldnt want to push the limits if i didnt have to, but in the case of an accident, it has protection built in and is also backed by a 4 year warranty

Could we swap out the switch for something that is protected?

You can. That switch pictured is a 2 pin, my switches are 3 pin. The 3rd pin is the negative ground for the led light. Its part of the harness but doesnt have to be plugged in. Just keep in mind my switches are also water resistant with a rubber boot on them since the bed gets exposed to the elements.

Round 3 kits will be ready to go this week. I am aiming to have them packaged, labeled and dropped off to the post office by Saturday and they will deliver within 2-3 business days. If i can send them sooner i will

OP updated with 1 week lead time.

4 kits left at the discount price or until production is complete this week, then they go back to regular price

Soo, i keep toying with the idea of a portable version. A few questions for those who would like a portable option:

    1. If you want a portable version, would it be worth an extra $50?
    2. Ammo cans are durable, prefect size, easily transportable, and look cool, but the quick disconnects would mount on the outside of the can making an awkward shape for easy storage. With that in mind, would you still want an ammo can, or something like a mini plastic tool box that will keep the disconnects self contained inside? Keep in mind you'd then have to keep the lid open during use.
    3. It would power via cigarette lighter outlet. How long of a power cord would you want? Remember the longer it is the more expensive it gets and the harder is it to fit in its storage container.
    4. Any other ideas or feedback? Would you buy it?

I'll be the first to chime in cause I definitly and interested in a portable version.
    1. Yes, worth and extra $50
    2. Ammo can all the way for a couple reasons: -you know without a doubt it will be water tight, so can be stored in an open truck bed. -Universal size so I know where I can fit it. -the lid is often removable or you know it will stay in place when in use unlike some tool box lids. -other option would be something like a pelican box.
    3. 10-20ft, so it could be away from the truck and not risk getting water inside while having the doors open.

I can think of plenty of reasons to buy a portable one. Since I already have purchased you built in kit, I'm sure I would get the portable one also

Very interested in the portable unit!

    1. $50 for a contained, pre-built unit? Yes, please.
    2. Ammo can is fine, but knowing your quality and performance standards...I'm sure you'll come up with the best solution.
    3. Cigarette lighter outlet is fine and probably more practical since all vehicles have one, but those of us with TRD also have the plug in the bed. Again, I trust your judgment!
    4. I am very interested in buying, but would like to see the final product before fully committing. It would be nice to have a portable unit in case my truck isn't readily available (have your on-board water kit, and plan to install this weekend...so potential returning customer.)

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Just to clarify, the $50 would be an additional cost on top of the kit. So the new total would be $260 shipped instead of $210 (before discounts and sales). It would cover the cost of the ammo can, cigarette outlet, 12v extension cord, and modified brass fittings, stainless steel hardware and increased shipping costs. The existing kit would be retrofitted inside the can.
