    You mean the inner cooler that gets bolted in to the main supercharger unit? Or an additional external 'radiator'.

    Oh. Yeah you could mount another one in the bumper I suppose, but you might not get much airflow through it. And mounting one in front of the other two will probably inhibit flow through the engine radistor. Best bet really is a larger outer cooler.

    I need to get one of those radiators Tor found for us( for himself but shared with us :rofl: ) and throw a dual electric fan on it, maybe they can build a bigger blower cooler as well to fit in right behind the grill. My issue is the URD CAI is already pretty squished right there. So a thicker blower cooler would crush the CAI even more. Might need to rethink the CAI.

    Have been considering a custom snorkel using 3" aluminum tubing from throttle body to above roof line with an in line filter. I found all the components on Amazon lol, even a Toyota MAF tubing section that should let the MAF bolt right up. Question is, where exactly do I position the MAF in the intake for perfect readings. Like...a foot off the TB or what?

    It's a Spectre In line filter 6" wide with 4" inlet and outlet. Use a 4" to 3" reducer on either side to match 3" aluminum tubing for all the rest of the piping, probably just go straight out from the TB and utilize the existing fender hole, 90° right out of the hole and go along the inner fender and up along the A pillar. They also make a 3" inlet/outlet inline filter but the filter body itself is only 4" with a small cone filter inside, would rather have the 6" to maximise filter size. Even that is a major drop in filter size from the URD, so I'd be cleaning it often lol

    When people are referring to the heat exchanger are they talking about the internal cooler which gets bolted into the supercharger or the one which is outside of the engine bay?

    As a reference, the maximum you want to spin these blowers before you start losing power is 18,000 RPM straight from Eaton.

    Hey Jeff @VolcomTacoma , we have the same intake don't we? We could always go with a shorty nose intake. They sell them at pep boys. It may work better behind the grill than our huge ones we have in there now and not get crushed like our current ones and also be easier to remove for cleaning.

    @FinnJ I did forget the Euro cars do tend to run on the hotter side than ours, that is true. No cooling system issues for me, just want to cool things down and give more capacity to what is already in place because I feel like it is not a lot that runs through the system.

    The problem isn't length, Rob, it's width, and why would reduce your filter media amount. Did you want to clean it every week? You do realize once it gets dirty enough not only are you suffocating the engine a bit, it can start pulling particulate through the clogged media and right in to your engine. :facepalm:

    I haven't cleaned my filter since I got it. Lol. Remember they are dry so they don't attract as much bs as those K&N oiled ones do. It's just an idea. Remember it's all about options and the more we know about the better off we are to use what is at our disposal. :)

    About 2 weeks ago I noticed my truck sluggish and with only 1 psi of boost. I have an aFe dry intake which has white filter media, it looked slightly tan but not too much to raise awareness. Well halfway through ripping the supercharger and bypass valve, I decided to try cleaning the filter and it was actually very dirty. Cleaned it, and back to boosting. Last time I cleaned the filter was two years ago but having driven about 7k miles I figured it was fine still. Off-roading will do a number for sure. Ordered a black pre-filter now so it's more obvious when it gets dirty.

    Interesting. So it was clogged to the point where it was hindering boost? Being that I put my filter on well over 7K ago and have wheeled a couple times since I put it on I'm going to pull mine off and clean it as well. I wonder how clogged it might be. I haven't cleaned it in a LONG time.

    Yeah, I was surprised too. Now I'm going to make it a force of habit to clean it at minimum with every oil change. There's some areas with silt where I trail so that didn't help my case either.

    Misconstrue what. They're dry so they don't attract as much BS (dirt? Particulate). It's still a filter, Rob. It's going to filter as much as an oiled filter, but instead of using oil to catch it, it uses layered dry filter media.

    I have the disreputable 2gen TRD CAI, but it has one nice feature, this:

    I have used nowadays the OEM filter (2010+ FJ Cruiser/4Runner) in it, there was always went some dirt over the K&N type TRD filter.

    I never liked oiled filters because they cause harm to the MAF.

    GM quality right there. ;)

    Welp.... girlfriend drove the truck today and accidentally put 89 octane in. :annoyed: I told her to just stop by orileys and buy some octane booster for just the one time. What do y'all think?
