I finally got my hands on a dremel and was able to install the compressor switches into the factory blanks and run the wiring through the firewall. Pics of the tear down and work as always. I wanted to keep the look as clean as possilble and not have to mess with the pre assembled ARB harness. I will be running all other accessories from a switch panel in the sunglass holder and through a fuse box, however ARB does a great job with their harness and I didn't want to extend any wires.

I relocated my bed power switch down to a blank and installed the ARB switches into the blanks on the dash panel. In order to do the dremel work, I removed the dash panel as shown below.

The factory makes these "tabs" that only allow you to install the original intended switches. On top of this, the ARB 6 pin is much larger than the given slot so I removed some of the material on the side. The switch is snug, but does not click into place.

With the switches in place, I wired the harness up and ran the wires through the firewall.

After closely inspecting the grommet that all of the interior dash wires run through the firewall, I noticed a small hole that unused and plugged via the rubber grommet on the engine bay side. I cut the end of the plug off and had open light through the firewall.

I used a wire hanger tapped to the wires to run the wire. (Engine bay view)

Thanks, I'm trying to give some good detail on the mods. It can be tricky as you get going and forget pics. Now I need to get that compressor wired! I'm not heading to Ramona today so I still need wire strippers.

Not trying to make 5 trips to Ramona this week? That'd only be about 4 tanks of gas

:woot: good luck at the doctors!

I bet @erice has strippers too if needed.

(The tool type, not the female type )

Yeah, I'm trying to minimize that drive as much as possible.

He does, but I heard he had a hell of a time at Comic Con and may have even brought back strippers. (the female kind.):censored:

So, serious question. I'm working on getting my CaliMaps downloaded to my computer and than plan on uploading the territory I need to an Ipad. Trying to download the player that I need to utilize the download.

Is LeadNav worth the price difference compared to the other apps? I have an Itunes credit that I could use to get it, but its $20 compared to $2 for Galileo Maps.

So I just downloaded LeadNav onto my Itunes account and I'm waiting on some of the CaliMaps files to complete. I messed up and now my Iphone is updating. I'm anchored until that is completed. Any recommendations for people familiar with these products?

How can you tell the power output? Is there a way to test it? That may explain why my current one takes forever to charge the phone.

Moved to my thread so I can find it later for reference.

Got plans tonight? I'm content with the time right now. It was a long night. Didn't sleep much.

I like your signature quote btw.
