Diamondback Cover Questions

I'm looking to buy a used Diamondback Cover either the SE or an HD if I find a good price. I have a 2014 double cab with the short bed. My question is what other models and years would I be able to pull a cover off of and it would fit my Tacoma? Is the bed of a Tundra or any other make or model truck similar enough to the tundra that I could buy a cover off someone who had it for something other than a Tacoma? Also what years would a be able to pull off of to fit my 2014 tacoma? How much have the styles of the beds changed over the years? Just trying to get as much info as possible, thanks.

 

Quite possibly a Nissan with tracks? (As their installation guides are the same for both trucks?) Just a guess.

Yea I thought about contacting them but figured I'd probably get a "they're specifically made and will only fit what they're made for, you can buy one new" speech. Wouldn't expect them to encourage buying one second hand but I guess it's worth a shot.

Over the last two years, they've upgraded the handles and the slots in which the locks slide through in your bed. Definitely order those upgrades if it doesn't already come on your used buy. Installation guide PDF are free, just in case you're wondering what parts I am referring to.

 

Yea I looked through the installation guide and the manual but didn't see any part numbers. Is that the locking rods? I've found some used ones on F150s and some chevys. I did find one on an 07 Tundra Crewmax but I don't know if those beds would be close or not.

I figured as much I'll just have to keep an eye out. So would pretty much anything from an '05 to '15 be what I'm looking for then, all of those beds should be about the same as my '14?

A diamondback 270 cover just popped up on my Craigslist search today. Too bad it's for a 2016+ So won't fit my '14 just incase anybody else is in the market like myself.

 

Does anyone know if the tie downs on the side of the covers can be added or removed at any time? If I buy a used cover without the tie downs is it easy enough to add them to the cover, can I buy those from diamondback? I sent them an email haven't heard back yet but figured I'd ask here as well

 

Odd for them to not reply. If the cover comes without tie downs, you can order them and you'd have to drill holes in before you bolt it in. Will take a picture for you right before I go to work.

 

Yea they got back to me told me the same thing but I figured I'd ask here as well. I found a potential seller. No tie downs said he bought the cover in 2010 the weather stripping on the tailgate came off a bit and he gorilla glued it back on but other than that seems to be in good condition. He wants 700
