I was out with my dad in his truck off-roading, he pressed the traction control button but it still stayed on when he slammed the gas, turns out you have to put the truck in neutral, stop, and hold down the button

Place your truck in park or neutral and hold the button for 3-4 seconds...

amazing isn't it? there's this whole world of information out there in a book (novel concept right?) and they choose to open mouth and insert foot regularly.. or worse yet, not experiment.

I learned nearly everything I know in my professional career by being self taught and experimenting... I learned about the taco systems by experimenting.. same with any other car, computer, or project.

I simply don't get this "go post on a forum without ANY effort to research" attitude we have today.

There will still be a record of human existence but it will be in the form of a social media post full of emojis, internet acronyms and references to dank memes.

    Alright time for a nap.

Edit: Almost forgot content. I think you have to have the parking brake on for a manual trans. I'll double check though, cause being lifted mine kicks in all the time and it drives me nuts.

I don't know about 3rd gen but on the second gen you can't turn it completely off. It will only let you get so far sideways on a dirt road before it kicks in

He asked a simple question for his dad.... Did any of you notice he owns a 1st gen. He is a good kid and there was no reason to bash him or anyone for that matter, for simply asking a question. If you didn't have an answer to his question then you should have kept on clicking past this post.

If a 60 year old isn't able to read a owners manual, should he be driving? Asking for a friend.

He's proven his access to the internet by posting here, that means he has access to the owners manual.

Some guys just want to pretend they are smarter than others. I read "most" of the stuff in my owners manual, but an awful lot of it deals with features either not on my truck or stuff I'll never use. Like most people I skip over that stuff and sometimes inadvertently skip stuff I may eventually need to know. I CAN, and often DO go back and look up stuff. But it is often much easier, and less confusing to get the answer by asking.

There is no rule that you must attend every argument you're invited to. If it bothers someone enough why not try simply not responding instead of curt remarks about opening the owners manual.
