Oooof, very cool stuff! Looks very commercial. You have a rig for those panning shots? Or are they done digitally?

Yea. I love firearms, one reason I don't shoot much anymore. I'm always training.

While I was in school I used a Nikon D30 with an 18-55mm lens. This was one of the photos I used for my final project and features my stepdads tundra in the foreground and my Tacoma in the back.line up edit 1.jpg

I recently got a new phone. It is the LG G6 and it has two rear cameras. This is the first I phone to have good sensors behind both lens. One is wide and the other is normal. I really like it

This is the wide angle. Taken from a doorway, right on top of my nephew

Phones don't have room for good sensors.

I mean two good phone sensors. The previous models had a lesser sensor behind the wide angle lens

If any of you have seen my posts lately, I've been up shooting pictures. Here's one that wasn't from a cell phone :)

For you pros out there... I'm in the line of totality (for over 2 mins) for the upcoming eclipse and want to be ready to take some great shots. I just have a D3300 with 35mm, 18-55mm, and 55-200mm lenses.

Question: I assume some sort of filter would be ideal to capture the best possible shot. I have a couple of basic UV filters, but perhaps something more robust for shooting directly at the sun in the middle of the day? :)

    Thanks!

UV filters will not work, you'll burn your camera's sensor, your eyes or both.

    I got this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DS7SSEW/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I cut a circular piece the size of a filter and secured it to the lens with a uv filter.

    Here's a test shot.

Here's some info on viewing and photographing the eclipse safely http://www.mreclipse.com/.

New to Tacoma's and don't have many pics yet (that will change!). I mostly shoot action sports and landscapes. I'm in Jackson Hole for the summer so I should be in prime location for the eclipse!
