    Hello Tacoma World Family,
is there an upgrade to a 2016 Tacoma TRD sport to provide a functional rear air conditioning and heater vent? My Tacoma has a vent back there but its sealed.:help:

Aren't the vents for the rear seats right under the front seats? Is for my 2014 so you have to watch what gets stuffed/kicked under the seats.
Same goes for my 06 forester. ..

On this 2016 Trd Sport it has a center console, and the vent going to the rear is just for looks, it's sealed.

I'm not sure if you have a access or dbl cab but my dbl cab sport has them under the seats. That vent looking thing is just a design. They are on whenever you select the floor on your dial. Push your seat all the way forward and look under the back. You will see the vents.

If you are speaking of the vent in the back of the console, isn't that for the inverter that powers the bed power outlet?

AC vents should be under the front seats pointing back, but they don't do a lot. Even my '04 Highlander has those.

No rear heating that I know of, unless it comes via those same vents.

I'm still trying to familiarize myself with this truck. I thought that was a vent on the rear console, but that it was not functional due to the fact that it was not the top of the line Tacoma.

I think you are right about the inverter. Didn't think about that. Yea they don't put out too much unless it's on high but at least its something. Never had anyone in back before and only someone in passenger seat twice in almost a year...lol

Don't worry, I've had my truck for almost a year and just now found out I have heated mirrors and backup warning needs to be turned on to work...duh

I really wish they had implemented vents in the b-pillars or something. My 5-month old sweats her ass off due to the lack of circulation in the rear cabin. We take my wife’s car mostly for this reason.

Yea, trying to get cold air from under the seats wasn't the best idea. Heat it fine since it rises.

I hear you.. that's the same problem that I'm having, not enough circulation to the rear.

I added a fan in our back seat since the dog hammock basically covers up any cold air coming up from under the front seat. Go figure 2nd and 3rd gen problem...

Try reaiming the center vents and even the outter vents. My Highlander is a larger area and cools just fine for folks in the back with just a bit of adjustment.

If that rear vent would have been used for A/C vent and heating instead of the inverter that would have solved the problem

I didn’t see an updated post on this, so I’m bringing it back from the dead. I noticed the vents appear to be in a sleeve and can be moved. I pulled mine back and they’re still pushing air. Time will tell if I disconnected something or if they’re made to extend within a sleeve.
