    Too much to list!
I will be using my Tacoma to tow my travel trailer to the middle of Oregon to catch the eclipse on the Monday morning of August 21st, 2017.

Anybody else have any trips planned for the event? Share you plans?

In the Buy/Sell/Trade - Other I am selling the Eclipse Specific glasses for anyone who is attending.

Feel free to post pics of the event on this thread.

Mine is going to sit right here:

We contemplated going to Northeast GA (Clayton area) however after reviewing the anticipated crowds and traffic, etc.--and with my not being a real "people person" we opted to sit it out here in Saint Augustine.

Saw one in 1970 on Cape Cod and to tell you the truth if you know why and what is happening it's not that big a deal...

Ive been tossing around the idea of going to see it somewhere in the SC/TN area. Not because I really feel the need to see this eclipse, but I've been itching for a road trip to TN since I havent been there yet and this would give me one more excuse to go.

From my house (south of Charlotte) I think we'll get close to 98% coverage. But this thing is so rare that the family and I may head south about an hour to officially be under the eclipse totality path. In any case we already have our glasses! Should be pretty neat.

What would be interesting is to have vehicular accident statistics in the path of the eclipse on average, and the day of.

Wondering if gawkers and those unaware of the event who spook easy will start piling them up.........

The sky turning black for 2.5 minutes in the middle of the day, temperature dropping up to 30 degrees for a few minutes then rising back, 5 planets visible to the naked eye with multiple stars... yeah, no big deal lol

Edit: should probably add my plans like the OP suggested... I'll be on private property in east central MO, right in the middle of totality!

I'm excited. One of several opportunities in my lifetime. This is the closest one to me though.

1970 was quite some years ago. (Technically I wasn’t even born yet) but I did catch the one in Portland OR in 1979 and it was memorable.

This time we are staying far away from the crowds. In eastern Oregon there are vast open areas not near any town or anything. I have scouted a few spots. Maybe there might be a family or two, but certainly not like being in or near Portland.

I wonder if all of the people and vehicles congregating on that relatively thin line will shift the rotational axis of the earth? :).

I'm jealous, I'll be working and shuttling my kids around to their various activities. My mom said she would be going to Idaho to catch it.

Be forewarned : hotel/motels already highly booked in the Nashville area, and similar reports from camping/RV sites. May be difficult/impossible to find a room or camping site. Also warnings on crowded interstates/major highways.

Most were booked over a year ago. That’s why we are taking the travel trailer into a remote area. Time to do some dry camping!

That's an intriguing statement, "technically" you were not born yet; were you in some sort of stasis, or suspended postpartum state?

I'm going to sit in my front yard with a beer and watch the totality go by. I live just north West of Charleston SC.
