The hissing you hear is typical of a vacuum leak in the brake booster diaphragm. Your losing your vacuum assistance hence the stiff brake pedal.

Prob a small vacuum leak. So you are experiencing it most during high demand.( Using the pedal multiple times.) Loss of vacuum and the inability to replenish it fast enough is causing the had pedal.

@RPS1030 My neighbor got himself something new for his Ram truck. I'll get another pic when I see him put it back on his truck.

I am planning a 16 day trip in my Tacoma, about 4500 miles round trip.

Thinking about what the truck needs and it looks good to go except the "rear" speakers (I have an Access Cab, so the rears are in the headliner) the right rear has no sound. Both fronts are factory and are as good as new (passable quality). CD/Radio is SR5 original equipment and sounds good, goes as loud as I need. Truck is 2012 SR5, 4x4.

Is swapping out the dead speaker worth it?
Is there a better location for rear speakers in an Access Cab?
Or should I just forget about these rear speakers and upgrade the in door speakers when I get a chance? Then would you keep the original in-dash head unit or ?? Not looking for thumping bass or extreme volume but if upgrading I like clarity and tight bass.

I know lots of you guys have swapped speakers and head units in these second get Tacos, would you tear into it yourself or use a shop?

    WWTWD?

I'm the outlier when it comes to car audio so maybe you shouldn't listen to me (I'm totally OK with listening to my factory system at what is apparently low volume for most) but try finding someone's stock rear right speaker and just throw them a few bucks for it if they don't outright give it to you for free. Flop it in there and go- if it's passable for you, why spend the extra money?

When did they move the speakers to the headliner? My 06 back speakers were in the suicide doors.

In other news, Phoenix peeps, what's the story with long term parking @ sky harbor? Good, bad, indifferent? Is theft or vandalism an issue?

I'm going back to Pennsylvania for a week in early/mid August to pack up as much of my shit as I can to make ready for when I either (a) buy a house out here or (b) rent one until I can buy.

Ive parked in east economy for a week multiple times, never an issue. Even some of the off site lots are very secure.
