Alright everyone My 2015 Tacoma with 5700 miles has been at the dealership for 3 days with an issue that needs an educated guess for a fix. The issue is my front driver side windows fails to work 100% of the time so first fix was to change the motor thinking it may be overheating that didn't fix the problem so they tried out a new switch, not the issue, so not knowing what the issue is they contact Toyota and open a task to see if any other techs have a solution going on 3 days with a loaner car starting to get worried but at the same time I'm glad they are trying to correct the issue before handing the truck back over.
So has anyone else have this issue and what's the not so obvious fix?

I'm really glad you posted this. I had the EXACT SAME issue on my 2012 (original thread I posted here). Three trips to the dealer and they never did fix it. They eventually found my "ABS kill switch" mod and blamed it on that. I removed the mod and the issue remained. I just gave up on the dealer. Stupid problem still annoys me to this day. Is your truck 100% bone stock? I hope it is and they can't blame it on a mod. Please keep me posted, I'll buy you a beer if they fix it!

The weird thing about the Tacoma, at least the 2nd gen, is that there's no direct wiring from the cab to the switch for the driver side window motor. There's a bundle of wires: power mirrors, door locks, 3 window switches for the other windows in a double cab. The master switch is the only area where the driver window will receive a signal.

That being said, I would test the incoming harness from the cab for +12v while the key is in the ON position. Next, I would plug in the switch and test for +12v from the switch to the motor when the switch is activated in both directions (up and down). Since there's only two wires for the window motor, the switch does a reverse polarity to drive the motor going in each direction.

If during testing that there is +12v in only one direction from the switch, then I would try a new switch. If there is +12v in both directions, I would apply a direct +12v and ground to the motor to make sure it's working. If the window motor works and the window rolls down when +12v is applied, then reverse the polarity and see if it will roll up.

If all the tests check out, I would then jumper the switch to the window motor harness, but in reverse of what it normally is to see if the motor was manufactured accidentally with the wrong polarity for up/down. To do this, you would want to unplug the harness from the door and jumper wires between the switch's harness and the connector in the door. You'll likely need to peel back the plastic sheet to get to the connector. You will probably want someone else to hold the switch down for you while jumping the wires.

Wild-ass-guess here, but do these things have motor auto-shutoff switches that detects when the glass is completely shut or completely open? One could be stuck in the 'shutoff' position.
