i thought i had the flutter both before and after the tune, but after hearing y'all's descriptions i think i don't have this flutter. i think I'm having a little clutch slip here and there.

I'm going to try and order a new ckp sensor tomorrow. I hope it does something to the stuttering I am having with the alpha 1.01 tune. I am looking forward to getting this fixed up. I am about to have a death in my family so I will have to travel some. I hope I can get the sensor before I leave. It will give me something to change in the hotel parking lot. I put over 600 miles on the tune before I went back stock today. The truck feels amazing as long as it's not stuttering. The power is there and I seem to get better mileage. It makes me weepy when it's stock because it feels like shit.

This was my drive in this morning - @OVTune is this the type of correlation you'd be expecting? I think many feel a little "slip" when accelerating but this morning mine was pretty smooth.

And here's a good comparison of my engine speed vs. ignition timing BEFORE I replaced my CKP sensor. Same drive, though it was a bit more congested this day, same temps / pressure:

@bshammer0 Does your truck feel better with the new sensor installed? I just ordered my new one. I can't really feel anything with the factory tune. I keep thinking I can in my head though. Wyatt Johnson was giving me crap for even trying to order it. If you want to feel the stutter really bad, let me know. I can meet you and let you drive it. The factory tune masks it really well.

This morning, while the truck was still driving pretty decent the steering was "heavy" again and it felt slightly more bogged than it has the rest of the week. Interesting to see the correlation from the same drive yesterday re: ignition timing. Lot's more variability even when cruising around the same RPM vs. yesterday. Also recorded a misfire toward the beginning right when timing was @ 50 degrees (it's peak timing for this trip)

My trucks on the sensor recall list, but I don't recall feeling and stutters. Granted the MT might hide a lot of it (springs in clutch absorbing etc)

I do get crap mpgs compared to others and I'm 100% stock

Received OVTune 1.01B last night and loaded it right away. Because I never felt stutter until after I added the Spec U pipe to the tune, I never thought it was caused by the CPS and still don't. I believe there is something wrong in the base code in the ECU that is causing bad learned behavior. Here is feedback after the new tune:

    Last Night:
1.01B loaded. Stutter is gone and power looks to be back to where it was with the tune without the pipe. Just 15 minute drive in D with and without ECT. Backfiring is gone when lifting at hi RMP. Looks like maybe some shift points changed a little. Need more time on it and see if learning changes anything. Do notice it seems over sensitive in ECT at the 0-5% gas pedal input, almost seems like it skips a portion of that range.

    Today:
No stutter on way to work today and I was getting that in a couple of places each day with 1.01A and the pipe. Very happy stutter and backfiring is gone. Something has changed with how the auto shifts and cant put my finger on it. Did not run ECT this AM as I wanted to compare to past commutes with cruise on so no update on accelerator pedal feel. D without ECT feels good. This is not comparing to the stock tune. The OVTune is so much better than stock. The way the truck drives changed completely. This is mostly addressing issues I had after adding the Spec U pipe to the tune. I had run the tune about 700 miles before adding the pipe. Then another 700 miles with both and with more than 200miles off-road total now.

I'm in the same boat, though I have an AT. Bone stock engine/tranny - stuttering and drastic loss of power upon shifting into 3rd. I'm averaging 17.5 mpg overall.

Anyone have any updates on fixing the low rpm stuttering?
