Looming for an ARB bumper. Cheapest I've found is 866 shipped on eBay. Anyone know of any other places? Coupons, sales etc?

i think that is a pretty decent deal for the bumper. I bought mine from the warehouse directly in seattle as a blemished model for 700.

Nice. Did you have to pick it up at their location?

Any reason you don't want to get one of the other bad ass bumpers out there? The arb is great but it's the oldest design and is made for every vehicle known to man. Lots of choices specific to it Toyotas that look awesome.

I like the look of it and the price point. I do like other ones but I would end up paying 12 to 1500 with shipping.

Same here. I drove up to Renton and saved almost $300 in shipping. Great guys up there at ARBUSA. Gave me a mini tout of their facility, and gave me a shirt and bunch-o-stickers.

I will also be soon buying an ARB bumper for my 1st gen. I decided to buy the ARB precisely for the reasons (above) that you recite: Oldest design and made for every vehicle (almost). I place a LOT of value on a company whose product is a known, quality product that has proven itself around the world, and that is manufactured in enough quantity that you can buy it off-the-shelf, not having to pay $1500 for it while waiting 2-3 months for it. I will go for function and known reliability anytime over "bad-ass". Besides, I like the looks of it! $866 (free shipping) is the best price I have found as well.

I paid $866 shipped free from 4Wheel Parts. I think that $866 is ARB's "minimum advertised price."

It's a good looking bumper and the best value in my opinion. Hard to find a bumper with a similar design for less.

And also the only one, as far as I could tell, that explicitly states their bumper works with your airbag system.

I got my ARB for my 1st gen from a seller in Southern CA via Amazon. It was $893 with free shipping plus sales tax. It showed up in two days.

Sure, other bumpers are super nice. However, they have lead times from 3 months to a year. They cost a few hundred dollars more and most of the time when you get them you still have to spend a week and another small pile of cash to powder coat them. ARB uses powder coat that isn't even legal in the US.

    Regarding weight...http://www.expeditionswest.com/equipment/tacoma/arb_bumper.html
It's 78 pounds. That's significantly lighter than any other plate bumper other than aluminum. I don't wheel super hard. I just need some place to house a winch and if I do bump somehting it'll be fine. Also the recover points are good. It doesn't need to be bomb proof for me.

I did have an issue with one of the parts for my bumper. ARB overnighted the new part right away.

I removed an arb bumper when I bought my first gen that had one. Just didn't like the look. Other than that, everything else that people are saying is right on - lighter than even a trail gear tube bumper, well made, fits a winch, readily available. Sold mine for $550. Keep looking for a used one and you might save some money.

Ive never heard of any reliablity issues on the bumpers available.

Now wait times is another story. It can take a long time. I waited 6 months for my bumper but I was one of the first 10 people to order it. $750 is not $1500 either. Most 1st gen bumpers are priced pretty well. Its the 2nd gen bumpers that are crazy expensive.

I just dont like seeing my bumper on Fords and Chevys everhwere I go I guess.
