OK NM folks, where does one look for OEM+ quality replacement bushings/ball-J's/ends,etc for my '98 ?
328k on it & never had problems, but don't want any to appear and looking at new bushings/balls & ends.
The COS/shocks are only a couple years old & still good. NAPA OEM's. I want to keep it as stock as possible, with quality/long life parts.
Was looking to see if Moog makes bushing kit in urathane/poly instead of rubber?Like Moog equip.,but not the rubber as seems to wear out faster. Was told to watch out for the chinese urathane/poly bushings offered by some.
I'm out in Pie Town/Quemado area & have a local guy that can do the work, just need the parts.
I have started to look online, but would like some input on who I can talk to in NM about quality parts & what to avoid.
Any ideas NM folks? I see some real clean Tacomas on here & around NM. They must have somewhere to go to for parts/info?
Also truck came with optional stock 15" rims,& those Kendas fit fine with no rub, lifted it 1 1/2" just putting them on 2 yrs ago...lol

I know a lot of people order from Camelback Toyota in Phoenix. They offer a discount, check out this thread.

^^ camelback. Did OEM lbjs from them but got Moog tie rods. What I have read after all these thread debates between moog and lbjs for 1st gen tacoma is not that the Moogs are bad - it's the original design that is. So you can trust moog for other parts but for the extra insurance I went with OEM lbjs

Your truck looks great for having 328K miles on it.

Hey guys! Arkansan here. I am planning a trip to The Great Sand Dunes in CO and then dropping down to Red River, NM over Labor Day weekend. Does anyone know of good camping spots? Preferably primitive or free? I am planning on driving up to Goose Lake but I didn't know if there is anything else at the bottom of the mountains. I know there's a few regular camp grounds but I try to stay out of those.

Was actually going to find a more
Primitive spot/Blm land out in red River last week but ended up having to work the weekend. I can tell you the weekend before I was lucky enough to find a wonderful spot in the small "junebug campground". I normally hate campgrounds in general, but this was quaint, really quiet, and sat right on the river. I believe it was 20 a night.

There are plenty of dirt roads/utv trails that im sure will get you up out of the main town where you will be able to find something that you like. One of my favorite towns to spend time in and actually where we purchased my wife's 4runner.

Thanks! I saw that campsite earlier while I was looking online. I'll have to keep it in mind. I've been to Red River twice before but I was 10 or so then.
I'm trying to throw together a quick trip for my bachelor party. Probably going to the Great Sand Dunes to do Medano Pass, to Goose Lake and then over to Mills Canyon for the last night before heading back home.

LOTS of wiring, dual battery setup, Solar charging system, with some random lights spread around here and there.
With Great Sand Dunes, check out Medano Pass backcountry route. Little bit of Offroad and nice camping spots.

That's the plan! I'm ready to drive on some sandy soil for once lol

Edit: the only bad part is we'll be getting there late in the night on the east side and I'm not sure if there will be any campsites available. I guess if there isn't we can just back track a couple miles and sleep by the entrance of the pass.

    Hi folks,

I was the guy in ABQ with the white 2013 Baja ACC, which I just traded in for a 17 TRD OR ACC from LHM. I got a Bilstein 6112/5160 kit to replace the stock shocks, but just broke my arm and can't do that work for months. I've always done my own work (5 Toy pick-ups in 30 years). I'm looking for a reliable shop in town that can install them for me. Any advice would be welcome.

I also have some RCI sliders to install, but less concerned about them right now.

    Thanks in advance.

    Steve

Chet's alignment installs shocks, the times I was there, they were very competent.

Walt at TAV can do anything well, I've sent several friends to him and all have been very happy.
