Hey guys new to the site and the Tacoma world! Can anyone suggest a Bed Rack that would be perfect for hauling more than 1 or 2 paddle boards or maybe guide to fabricate something? Thanks

No problem. There are lots of rack options, but can get upwards of $600. I thought this one was the best "bang for you buck" with a simple installation.

Go with roof racks and use the bed for the other stuff. Used the Yakima system for my kayak. Way less expensive and works very well.

Would a hitch mounted bed extender work for you? Boards lie in bed and are supported by the extender? It's how I carry my kayaks.

Not to hijack the thread but I just bought a couple stand up paddle boards that are inflatable made by Body Glove for about $520 shipped through costco.com. I've been using them for about 2 months and they're so much easier to transport. Ever consider this?

I have them in the bed now and my issue is with my boards sticking out of the back. I wanted something on top to span the length of the truck otherwise i would definitely get a hitch!!

I have considered it and looking over my options the boards i chose and will choose in the future probably won't be inflatable. I buy my boards with intention to rent give lessons and then sell again after and inflatables for this would be too much of a hassle ya know. We are going to the Surf Expo this september and will be demoing some new boards coming out soon so if they have awesome inflatables then i may look into it more!

Why? Just flag them well. 15' yaks, 6' bed + hitch mounted extender.

Of course if you need the bed for something else at the same time, that's a different story. But if you're just doing day trips this is a pretty inexpensive solution.

I only have the cross boards for my yaks to clear the wheel wells. Lets them sit side by side, in the bed, flat, no rubbing. When I take one, I just put it directly in the bed.

HA dude that is awesome!!! No i hear you but yes i will need the bed at the same time for equipment and PFDs. If it was just my boards i could use this but in the case of transporting more than 2 boards a rack would to the trick...I may get that soft roof rack as well!

I have both the Thule Xsporter bedrack and SUP taxi. Depending on how far I'm going I just use the SUP taxi with my OEM roofrack but for highways, I always use the Xsporter.

Taxi can carry two boards stacked.
