Watched my ScanGauge this morning on the interstate to finally see what the temperature was at.

In town running 45-60 mph it ran between 193-198F. On the interstate between 60-75 mph it ran between 195-202F, peaking at 204F sitting at a stop light on the off ramp.

No A.C. running, no load in the truck, 72F outside temp.

I went searching on Tacoma World and I see people posting temps anywhere between 180-202F so mine's running at the high end. I'm a little concerned what will happen if I ever pull my boat (another project) if that's where I'm running on a good day.

Thermostat and water pump were changed in December at Toyota so I should have their brand new fluid and I changed my fan clutch in April. I guess I need to dig deeper and see what the exact temperature range should be for the 5VZFE.

Well the rig is still getting the frame issues taken care of. It had a good look over and the bad is gone. Welding in new C channel frame splice and then plating it up on both left n right side of the frame.

Mine runs around 200F. New tstat, radiator and I flushed the system recently. I tow my landscaping equipment every week with no overheating issues.

Both. I am going to do my timing belt here within the next month the water pump will be done then as well to hopefully get the temps down a bit. Next on the cooling list is a trans-cooler.

Just make sure its not momentary, that means it only stays on while you have it pushed down

2.5" OME lift. Sweet Decals. Dashboard Hula Girl.
After putting on the OME lift and new KO2's in the last two weeks, today was alignment day. It WAS alignment day... until the alignment guy called to say the front right bearing that was JUST installed a couple months ago wasn't as it should be. So today, nothing interesting happened to the Taco today, other than making another appointment with the shop to have them re-do the wheel bearing...:annoyed:

    Someone beer me....

Cheap spacers and blocks, 33's, poor man upgrades.
Alright TW folks, driving to work lastnight and home this morning. At around 65-75 mpg, 2250-2750 rpm, truck acts like its almost misfiring? drops in rpm a few hundred and acts like its having trouble. Alternator, battery, fuel filter, MAF, spark plugs have all been replaced within the last year. Doesnt seem to do it at slower speeds, any ideas? thanks

I'm not sure. Maybe after this tank I'll dump in some 93 and see if it still does it. Gonna dump a fuel injector cleaner in it since I just filled up yesterday
