2012 Toyota Tacoma trd sport check engine light/traction control off lights on dash?

Hey guys I turned my truck on this morning and the check engine light was on with my traction control off light was on the dash as well. I was unable to turn the traction control back on as well. Kinda weird that both of these dash lights came on when I started and won't go off now. I'm taking it to the dealer tmrw to see what's wrong but I didn't know if any of you guys have a clue of what it might be. Didn't know if this is a common problem or not.

 

Pull the engine codes and report back.

 

Depending on the code, Check engine light will trigger the traction control light as well. It's common.

 

The traction light acts as a back up light incase someone has modified the cluster or the engine light is unable to illuminate. This is to prevent emissions equipment from being bypassed unknowingly.

You have an engine fault, nothing crazy.
