Does anyone know a good way to deal with rust on rotors? I just bought some new wheels and noticed how bad the surface rust is looking on the rotors. I've been told that Duralast Gold rotors are good but it'd cost well over $300 just to buy and install them.

You can remove them, sand the rust off, and paint the hats and outter edges with caliper paint, mask the friction surface well!! I belive centric makes pre painted rotors like this that won't break the bank.

OEM's tend not to rust much.

Or just deal, they are brakes after all, by nature they are dirty and if you are so much as concerned for their appearance then I'm sure they look better than 90% of the cars' brakes around you.

The only time brakes look pretty is when they're on show cars at sema and have never been used. The big brake kit Brembos, Endless, StopTech and the like with carbon ceramic drilled and slotted rotors and calipers and hats that match the car's paint etc.

Ultimately they're brakes I wouldn't worry about it. Besides drums look worse than any rotor in after market wheels and we all got those out back.

    YMMV.

Yeah I guess I'll just hold off on it and throw that money into new mods!
